Mr Kohn was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. From early childhood Kohn was drawn to hip-hop and DJing at its beginnings. After high school, he went on to work at City Lights Recording studios in Northern New Jersey, as assistant engineer and recording engineer. Kohn began producing hip-hop music after receiving a half-working drum machine, and later fell in love with the elements of trip-hop and electronica music. Next, he got into turntablism, performing live with the artists Morphic Field and Suckerpump as well as doing various studio projects. For the past five years, Kohn has licensed music for such TV shows as: Sex and the City-HBO; Angel-FOX; Charmed-WB; Felicity-WB; Smallsville-WB; Roswell-WB America's Next Top Model-UPN; First to Die-NBC; Strong Medicine-Lifetime; and Joan of Arcadia-CBS.
